Audience and genre

Both require you to format your writing certain ways, possibly different than that of your own opinion. they both want you to include what other people think and not just what is important to you. For instance, if you are writing for a scholarly journal the writing would be much more formal and structured than that of a personal journal or even a business letter. they both require you to pay attention to other people's perspective on your piece.
